Rostermania – Week 2
After an entertaining week 1, and continuing to try to coerce remaining teams to reveal updated rosters, we finally got more movement (albeit slowly) this week.
Unknown Players
-timmer
+verb
One of the highest profile remaining vacancies has been filled (heh). After a short hiatus, verb joins UP, and the team hope they can alleviate some of the woes they had at the shotgun position at LAN 3. After a strong day 1, going 5-2 and finishing 3rd in Group A, UP had a disappointing Sunday. Despite two hard-fought series, including UB Round 1 where they took map 1 off of 3rd place finishers Bricked Up, UP could not seal the deal, and were sent down to have a rematch against Modern. Despite beating them in the group stage, UP lost the series in 3 maps and were sent home. Overall, a solid performance from UP, who went 7-6 in total maps in Columbus. They’ll look to improve on that record next time around, with a nice addition.

Inches
phil_collins, method, slv, dollabill, axzn, straf, saleen
Well, well well. The rebranded ggg boys are back for some more call of duty 2 action. This teams needs no introduction, but this time they’ll be bringing on slv as well. With the South American sensation strafizar ready to hop in at any moment, it’s once again a team that can threaten most. The boys are sure to bring fun, weird pics, and maybe some drama (smokegate 2025).

RAT Squad
-kevlar
+jay
After a disappointing LAN 3, RAT may have made one of the largest unexpected splashes going into the next ladder season. A string of unfortunate close matches (including our first tie) at LAN saw this team fall short of their goals. However, with the addition of Jay from a disbanded Janitorz squad, the team make an absolutely massive move. One of the best players available in this overall free agency season, this is an addition that will surely move the needle. Jay, who has always been one of the most clutch players (look at the LAN stats!) should provide a big boost, and the team can begin to reassess their goals moving forward.

Modern
+topzy

Modern’s quest for a 5th has come to an end. It ends up being a returning 5th, one who played GOTN Season 2 together with the Modern core, tipzy. Apparently, according to the two word sentence above, he will scope. We will see. It’s a solid move that surely increases the nerdiness of this team. With how much they play (and play together) it’s not only a good fit, but one that they hope can take them to the next level.
Modern have impressed. From humble beginnings, and a roster with not much expectation, this team have climbed the ranks consistently with their hard work and dedication. With these two new additions, it’s clear that their goal is to break into the upper echelon. If they mesh well, they can do it.
Mutiny
+ben (6th)

Young gun ben is back on the scene with mutiny. With the schedules of this team, Ben will surely get time to showcase his skills, before moving on as a 5th elsewhere over time. Having someone on at 6th who can play the shotgun role is incredbily important, and if panther is actually shottying, this will be an improvement for when John has to work and has to miss time.
Free Agents
The free agent pool is still quite large. While there are still plenty of openings, it’s very likely that some of the top FA get together and form their own rosters. (I count at least 17 FA, maybe more depending on teams)
