LAN is just a week behind us, but RosterMania is already in full effect. Post-lan is always one of the biggest times for reshuffles, and this off-season is already delivering in just the first week. Here is who is going where, and who might go where.

Rumors had already been swirling before Columbus’ second iteration about a Bricked Up roster shakeup. After the same 5 attended 3 straight offline events, and enjoyed almost two whole years as a 5, it was bound to be a matter of time before something gave. And kudos to them, they won both of the first two LANs, but it was clear early on this one was not going to be the same for them.

Okay, we’ll give it to him, this was a deserving gif. Undoubtedly the biggest roster shakeup saw a long-time Janitorz roster call it quits. The Bricked Up core snatch up two from that roster quickly, gl4d and hostage, making their intentions clear quite early. In a signal to say WE ARE HERE, this one makes a big splash, and signals the intent for this group to get back to their winning ways. It goes without saying that what this previous 5 accomplished over the last two years is nothing short of amazing. Still, it feels sickening that adding two of the most dynamic players in our game today, the cap for this team may have risen even further.

It was a hell of a run for this core 3. There aren’t enough words to describe the moments, the drama (shoutout trizzy), and the times had for this group, and in many ways it feels like the end of an era. In CS you’d consider the “core 3” broken with this departure, but with the way reflex and nilla performed at LAN3, you’d say this group is still in fine hands.

Having formed with scene legends like LeX, eric, and panther, this team has been around the block once or twice. But in this iteration, a foe turns to friend, as they add ex-janitor Nytrix. The resume doesn’t need an introduction. Under the helm of Janitorz, Nytrix boasts an insane amount of online cup & draft wins. It’s the kind of pedigree the team needed to add to get back to winning ways. After a stellar LAN3, and a slightly bitter taste in their mouths of tournaments past, this unlikely combination has been manifested with one goal; to win.

Modern Automobile

-kurupt, roflcakes

+cannon

As the “big 4” turn into the “big 3” (for now) following the Janitorz squad calling it a shift. So where does that leave the mid tier?

Can another roster come in and take that spot, or better yet, take the next level and compete with the top 3? Well, eric is back at it again and trying to do just that. We haven’t had the opportunity to say it much in this community so far, since revival two is still relatively new. But now almost two years in, Modern are the next big team to take a chance on a young guy.

Cannon.

The man made waves before LAN3 with his online play, but the question as always was. Can he do it on LAN? Can he do it when it matters? That is the question modern are going to answer with this pickup. It’s not at all shocking. We were hearing the cannon rumors to many teams. The man likely had a plethora of options, and settled on one that probably made the most sense. With Jocco having a standout LAN, nightmare at scope, and eric calling the shots; it’s not only a great spot to land for cannon given his talents, but a good time for Modern to take the risk and build up together.

The last question will be; who will be there 5th. It’s an opening many FA’s are going to be eyeing, as modern are one of the 3 teams most likely to be able to “make the jump”.

New Cores Form

2tonnes is an interesting beginning to a roster. You have method, you captained essentially an adept pug in GOTN Season 1 to some solid results. He also played alongside a surprisingly decent ggg squad despite them putting in close to zero effort outside of matches. He is joined by slv, who on a fun pug, actually played quite a decent LAN. Slv also played GOTN season 2 with the ggg2 squad, who despite having all new players, put on some quite good games. This is a duo that has a high ceiling, and should be able to put together a formidable roster.

For as much as he types, Junkman’s actions actually followed suit at LAN3. Playing with a group of for fun last second LAN attendees, this guys had the most celebrations per rounds won in Columbus. Having dusted hundreds of pugs over the last few months, it seems that Junkman is ready to enter to competitive scene, and will be joined by jax and cpt. winters, and are looking for two more

Free Agents

Okay, it’s a pretty good list. But it doesn’t tell the whole story. Other names such as berry and birdman are also now available, as well as rofl & kurupt since their departures from modern. Trauma is also now may be available, after a monster LAN.
