Free Agency Week 2; Moves, Rumors, Winners & Losers

Free Agency Week 2; Moves, Rumors, Winners & Losers

Week two saw us complete & solidify a number of the remaining rosters. There are still plenty of remaining free agents, as well as an adept roster in the works, meaning free agency is far from done. With a Season 2 announcement looming, teams are finalizing their talent before the real work begins. Lets take a deeper look.

RAT Squad

In: everestt, cpt.miller, superman, kevlar, kkz

while pictured here, this man is actually on the roster of SpawnX

Well look at that! In a move we didn’t expect, we got a new team almost out of thin air. If you look at it deeper though, it makes sense. This core will feature 3 of the original Nemesis members from GOTN Season 1. Everestt reunites with Cpt. Miller & Superman, who were unable to attend LAN2, bringing this group back into the fold. To round up the roster, they bring in kevlar & kkz.

kkz returns after quite a long hiatus after LAN1. kkz joins the the RAT squad having last played on the +Forward roster that finished third in Dallas, adding some much needed firepower. Finally, Kevlar, caster/player/jack of all trades extraordinaire joins this roster, after a solid LAN2 with empyrean who has since disbanded. What’s TBD on this roster is who will be picking up the pissgun.

OUTLOOK

This one will be quite interesting to see where this group slots in. When the original Nemesis was formed with this core, we were pleasantly surprised by the results in GOTN Season 1. Adding a player with top caliber experience like kkz, it could be the fuel this team needs. Now looking at this core, losing a talent like zyk is going to hurt. They may have a tough time slotting into that middle of the middle tier, but that will surely be the goal.

Spawn X

In: Berry, Birdman

Zyk has completed his mission by adding not one, but TWO capable shotguns. The way we understand it, is that at the time berry is unable to commit a lot of time in the future until further notice, so he will slot in as the 6th man. With the travel commitments on this team, (I’m looking at you, trauma) he may end up committing more time than he’d expect. Birdman, formerly of gotem, rounds out this roster very nicely. He will bring his wealth of experience to this group, and look to provide a calming consistency in between their trials of laughter and desk slamming.

OUTLOOK

On the surface, you’d expect this team to slot right in the midst of that “middle 4” of Awakening, Goons, and UP. As we mentioned in last weeks article, it is going to be Awakenings goal to put in the results to slip away from that group. Looking at this roster here, they will have similar aspirations. They now have a roster of multiple gamers who have tasted the top. It’ll be on them to mesh as quickly as possible, and do what they can to try and elevate to the next level. The first cup or two won’t mean much for this group as they figure it out, but once they do, the cieling for this team is quite high.

Verdict: Winners

Strokers

In: Broa

The boy has found his home. One of the most beloved players joins NA COD2’s darling roster. A match made in heaven. Broa will reunite with two of his ex-+vibe teammates from season 1, loose and abk. This pickup signals a new dawn in the strokers camp, one that increased the formidability of this roster by quite a bit. We will miss the antics of community favorite hero as he moves to 6th man, but we expect and hope to still see him out and about a good bunch.

Broa needs to play free. And we play off that. He is on the ball free to frag. No chains. -LOOSE

Based on conversations with team captain LOOSE, we should expect to see Broa back in his free fragging role. Will he be scoping some? Probably. Will we see him everywhere on the map possible (including spawn?) Probably. This roster will play around their new star fragger and go from there. A sight to behold. This team will have to start from the bottom like Drake, but their future outlook just got much brighter. The potential of this roster has been reborn, and it should give them a newfound confidence as they start to piece it all together.

Verdict: Winners

Bonding Experience

Out: eric, mikey, phreak, rofl, jocco

Well, it looks like even the roster without adept on it couldn’t stay together, so it wasn’t his fault. We’ll see what team spinoff of this team gets put together after this roster disbanded. This was actually a promising roster.

Verdict: Losers

Nephilim

In: everyone magnum, ashen, k1mble, stiff, c4rve (RUMOR)

We are not sure anymore, but apparently the nph squad will be back (contrary to our prior report) despite the team wishing to be listed on FA. Pending @magnum to make this official.

Verdict: I can’t keep up
