GOTN S1 End of Season Awards
GOTN S1 has concluded, and that means time for some awards. I want to personally thank all of the admins, league runners & contributors, body guards, modders, teams, and of course the players for making this all happen. Without everyone’s collaboration, effort, teamwork, and passion; none of this would be possible.
THE BOTANIST AWARD – PLANT KING
Well this one may have been spoiled, but it doesn’t make it any less entertaining. The plant king is a soulless, thankless job that very few can do. It requires a selfless aura that very few possess. You have to be willing to get in the weeds, in the trenches so to speak. That’s why, there’s no better fitting recipient of this award than a shotty himself, berry aka plant_king` aka Saquon_Barkley` who won the award with 33 plants this season.
Honorable mentions: strafizar (31), LeX (29)
THE POINT GUARD AWARD – ASSIST KING
Depending on how you look at it, this is an award you may (or may not?) want to win. I like to think that the recipient of this award was playing the team game, and will not be upset about it. This one wasn’t particularly close, as another nemesis member, Cpt. Miller takes it home with 29 assists.
THE PRESIDENTS TROPHY – BEST TEAM
The regular season is similar to the groups stage in a cup or a LAN. No, you can’t win the title here, but you can put yourself on strong footing and a path to be able to do so. This team was just 2 rounds away from a perfect season, that was snatched away in Week 7 Round 14, the last match. But, it ultimately didn’t matter. They won group B, and finished the regular season with an incredible 13-1 record. When you look top to bottom on this roster, there’s a lot to like. This team is great all around and boasted 3 players in the top 10 for KD. There is firepower all up and down the lineup, and Janitorz have played more than well enough to deserve this award.
MVP – GROUP A
MVP is always a tough race, and will always be somewhat subjective. But when you look at the stats, it all points to one man, shell. Yes, there’s plenty of firepower on +forward, and many players contributed to their success. But the group finished iun a 3 way tie for first, meaning every round was that much more important. +forward had a whopping 99 round differential, and much of that was to do with this mans +100 KD over the course of the season.
MVP – GROUP B
There was one man and one man only that ran away with all of the statistics in Group B. Willzki. The man ran away with virtually every category in group B, and as such, there is no need for a biased take here, the number don’t lie. Watch any casted match and you can see what he means to this team.
