Just The Tip
After a long stint with the High Noon core, Tipzy moves to the country club, who have bolstered their roster with him, as well as by bringing back ethix. The High Noon roster was able to reach the top level in the past, including multiple cup finals appearances prior to LAN 1. With Awakening, tipzy & co finished top 6 in GOTN Season 1 and LAN2 in Columbus, Ohio. We sat down with the man with the most cod2pugs all time to discuss the past & future.

Going into Columbus, there was a lot of hype and positivity around the Awakening squad. You guys had put together a string of solid results, and at times really good ones. How did you feel going into LAN2?
I believed that we should finish in the top 3. We had redefined our roles heading into LAN and a lot of teams couldn’t handle the aggression.
Awakening had an awesome Day 1, beating everyone in group B minus the eventual Champions Bricked. How was the feeling after that, and how would you assess the LAN performance of the team overall?
It was everything I had been saying, I felt that we were a good team that lacked consistency. Unfortunately we over-thought the map bans and tried going with a map we had felt hot on. That team is better than 5th/6th place finish.
Your time in the “High Noon” core has come to an end, but you leave head held high with plenty of memories. Are there any in particular that stand out?
Verb and I had been teammates almost every time cod2 was active since 2022, so it’s going to be really weird not hearing his weird noise celebrations after clutches or whatever new soundboard he finds. I think most people forgot but before whiteclaw officially died, Nilla had joined us to replace sixxer. So that was the start of that core. My favorite overall memory was beating janitorz in a nightcup finals with nilla’s fire alarm going off in the background. His gf was urging him to leave and he said NO.
With a new chapter starting at UP, can you tell us how that came about, and what it’s like to be the “new guy” at the team.
To be honest, it’s been fun. I’ve always been someone to “start a team” but it’s been nice to join something that’s already formed and has an identity.
UP has had their ups and downs, but even as early as late last year/early this year, they were considered a powerhouse in the community. Is the goal to get back there? If so, what can you do to help the team achieve that goal.
We’ll naturally get that respect back but that’s not the goal of ours. The goal will always be to win. Our boys are set up to do just that.
UP has made a few changes, but ultimately now its mostly the same cast with Ethix stepping out and back in. What should we expect your role in this roster to be?
Going in, they said they wanted to be as versatile as possible. Now that we’ve played together, it’s been a natural fit.
Are you being forced to pick up golf?
I’m not into golf at all lol, that’s not suddenly changing. I’ll be their designated drunk golf cart driver.
Say one mean thing about trump.
At this point, shitposting has fully consumed his brain.
