We’ve been looking for something to fill the void while the endless playoffs play out. Cups are fine but incredibly time-consuming. What else can we do ?

Presenting: GoTN King of the Hill Tuesdays

TIME:

TUESDAYS, 8PM – 12 AM EASTERN (First official date, Tuesday the 29th of July 2025)

FORMAT

• Bo1, Winner stays.
• Queue system, list for teams, schedule prepared in advance by admins, more info below
• 3 map pool

QUEUE SYSTEM

• Message an admin, prior to tuesday, to be added to the list. Include team name and hours of availability.
• 8-9pm, Mid tier and newer teams are prioritized in the scheduling
• 9-10pm, Higher-tier teams prioritized in the scheduling
• Admins will manage pacing to keep the night moving. If there is TOO MANY INTERESTED TEAMS at the same available times, teams may be asked to play EACH OTHER to secure a time slot.

MAP AND SIDE RULES

• Three-map pool announced BEFORE each Tuesday
• King bans first
• Challenger bans second
• Remaining map is played, and side is decided by BASH

CONDUCT

• Be ready when it is your turn. Kings are expected to play within 5 minutes from the end of their previous match. Challengers are expected to be ready to play as soon as the previous match is over. We will be looking to minimize delays as much as possible. The realistic goal is to fit in 6 bo1s within the 4 hour period.
• Every match will be streamed on the GoTN twitch channel. Screenshots will be kept. Statistics will be kept independently of season/playoff stats. Please use your FPSchallenge alias to be considered.
• Matches will NOT be on AC and tracking will be done through a GOOGLE SHEET. Queue will be available in advance. The map pool will be announced a week before.
• Streaks will be counted, wins will be counted, I am looking forward to making this a stats addict’s paradise with map-specific statistics, most likely manually calculated because of the low amount of matches.
• Tech issues will be tolerated but we need to stay reasonable to keep this moving.
• ONLY ONE 2 MINUTE TIME-OUT IS ALLOWED PER TEAM PER MATCH. NOT PER SIDE.
• Any rule can be changed at the discretion of the admin group (cabal) with or without notice

If there is no interest or this is just believed to be a bad idea, there is no need to push it and force it. I’ll take the personal L and we can move on. We’ve had good comments and a great mix of suggestions from different heads in the community, and this could become a staple if we want it to, and more importantly, if we enjoy it.
