Bricked Up vs Plus Forward

It has taken almost 4 weeks, but we are ready for the LB Finals. Tonight at 10EST on GOTN, we’ll have a GOTN Season 1 Playoffs rematch. Bricked Up, after finishing 3rd in Group A, have had to run quite the gauntlet to get to this point. They started out in Round 1, squeezing past x6 2-1. They followed that up with an impressive performance in round 2, blanking Plus Forward 2-0, before falling to finalists Janitorz 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Finals.

Plus Forward earned their right to a rematch with Bricked Up tonight, after taking down x6 in the 4th place match back on July 8th. Besides falling to Bricked Up in the UB second round 2-0, Plus Forwards run includes a 2-1 over UP, a 2-1 over Awakening and a 2-1 over x6.

Panther, who was unavailable for the last series vs Bricked Up, will be back in the lineup for Plus Forwards biggest match since they faced Bricked Up in the LB Finals on LAN at GGEZ Cafe. Plus Forwards lineup has seen a revamp since, and they’ll be hoping the new lineup will bring them newfound success as well. Panther will hope to have a better showing than in last night KOTH on Toujane where he managed to amass 6 kills, despite the team getting the victory.

In an interesting turn of events, Brisk has taken over the scoping duty for Plus Forward recently. Despite posting scrim photos, which likely is a learned behavior from Panther, the move has seemed to work really well as of late. He’ll have a tough matchup this match, in myLo, who has been stellar all season. This is clearly the matchup to watch, and if either of these two can take over, it could make a huge difference in sending the scoreline either direction. Look for Plus Forward to ban Toujane. Plus Forward had an impressive victory over Bricked on Breakout in the regular season, and they’ll definitely feel good about playing burgundy, so look for them to pick the one that doesn’t get banned. They’ll likely feel reasonably confident on Dawnville as well.

Bricked Up has been the epitome of consistency over the last few months. Coming off their victory on LAN in Plano, TX, they’ve been the toughest team to take down. Their unchanged 5 continues to work well together, and they’ll be looking to tap into that chemistry tonight, when both teams lives are on the line. WIth their recent results in general, as well as against Plus Forward, look for Bricked Up to feel fairly confident on Dawnville, Matmata and Carentan, and it’s likely that at least two of those end up being played. There is no weak link on this team, and they all do their jobs very well.

Bricked Up vs Forward: I believe we waited long enough to watch this match.. Likely vallente, burgundy, and toujane, can be ruled out, leaving mat, break, dawn, and ctan remaining in the pool. With this map pool, Forward’s new sniper, Brian, must prove his worth with haste. With a shotgun disadvantage for Forward, they can’t afford to lag behind at sniper as well. Zack and Shell can be the star rifles they typically are, but inevitably the task seems too large if Brian doesn’t have a great series. With that being said, I’m rolling with the LAN champs in a 2-1 victory, closing it out on Ctan in dominate fashion.

Bricked^ or +Forward – As Season 1 has entered it’s 20th week we again find ourselves with these two COD2 titans coming together to do battle. Both teams are very familiar with one another which makes this matchup all the more intriguing and difficult from a prediction standpoint. Both teams have pedigree top to bottom. Both teams will come prepared. But both teams know each other inside and out. The matchup that I believe will be the deciding factor; Brisk vs. Mylo. While everyone will be focused on the BaldAvenger, the matchup between the two battle tested and extremely talented scopes will be the difference. I think Bricked^ gets the monkey off of their backs and takes this one in a very tight 2-1 to book their ticket for a dance with the Custodians. – magnum
