Name Incoming: magnum, ashen, stiffy, abk, c4rv3

Just like that, a second team was announced on Thursday, bringing us to 12 interested teams. The latest roster to be confrimed interested is the Ex-Nephilim trio of magnum, ashen & stiffy, teaming up with abk and c4rv3.

Magnum, ashen and stiffy came into GOTN Season 1 fresh after having not competed prior to LAN 1 and created Nephilim. As a brand new team Nephilim came in and put in some impressive performances, including a victory over 5-6th place finishers Nemesis early in the regular season. This group hopes that with a few months to prepare together, that they can recreate these types of performances on a regular basis.

Our goal is simple; Get out of groups. If we can make it to Sunday and can steal a few rounds from the big boys, I think all 5 of us will come away satisfied. -magnum

The first addition to the roster is abk. He most recently featured on the +vibe roster in GOTN Season 1 who came in as the last team to form. The puggy roster grew as the season went on, and pulled off an impressive win over UP.

Newcomer c4rv3 comes in and completes this 5. We haven’t seen much of him yet, but he’s looking to make a big splash.

I’m 34, from new hampshire, grew up gaming because my dad’s a musician and had good computer gear early in the ’90s for recording, so when he got a vid card in ’96, i started playing earthsiege 2, then tribes 1, and eventually mohaa which led to cod1 and 2 (not to mention the other great games of the era like ultima online, everquest, diablo1/2, etc.). –c4rv3

I played cod2 until a few months after WSVG when the game had its first lull, and then stopped gaming altogether with the exception of one cod4 main season with the BAMF crew. Name c4rv3 comes from skiing which was my primary sport back then (carving’s a racing technique.) haven’t used it since cod2, but figured i had to bring it back for the revival. The teams and names kinda blend together for me across mohaa/cod1/cod2 and i was too young to commit most of it to memory, but i played a lot of cal M and didn’t quite crack CAL I until the last couple months before WSVG where i was a backup for gameslaves and got to get my ass handed to me in scrims by some of the older crew here in GOTN. for some reason i remember being on Show No Fear SnF.||. in mohaa and being mad at 47’s shotgun though –c4rv3

We went through a little bit of a frustration period – obviously we had our other guys, K1mble, Mercy, Willchx, and Kurupt, but with them not being able to LAN it put us in a weird spot. Ashen, St1ffy and I were committed to playing together but finding two guys that fit with us has been a challenge. For us, availability and willingness to improve, while being patient, were the most important qualities. ABK and c4rve were honestly the ideal fit in that regard. I’m actually enjoying playing again after taking a little bit of a break, and playing with this new 5 has been a lot of fun. – magnum
