Empyrean Announce LAN Roster

empyrean: tox, redz, trauma, kevlar, roflcakes

With LAN2 in Columbus, Ohio just over 3 months away, Empyrean has come forward and announced their 5. The core of this roster most recently played together in GOTN Season 1 as wizards, later fAMILY. This announcement brings the interested last back up to 10, with the recent news that both BAMF and Nephilim will no longer attend, but with a few of those names added to free angecy.

Four members of Empyrean attended LAN 1, with Kevlar & redz playing together on team blackout, while Trauma & Tox played with M80. The group is hoping that that experience will help them get back to where they expect to be.

The biggest thing for a few of us was finding a love for the game. We all came from different games, or not playing games at all, and being in the LAN environment struck a fire in us individually. We all have LAN experience in other games, we didn’t have the commitment to the game that we currently have and that’s the biggest difference.redz

Most notably this core found success in NightCup 10, just a few weeks post-lan, putting together a 3rd place finish in the 12 team tournament. After going 3-2 in the groups stage, including a higghlight win over Awakening, the group was able to deafeat Plus Forward in the 3rd place match as well, highlighting an impressive tournament. Amidst roster changes during GOTN Season 1, the group was never fully able to tap into their full potential, and hopes that three months of hard work together with their eyes on the prize will pay dividends. They add roflcakes as their 5th, who played the mercenary role in GOTN Season 1, playing matches for a few different teams over the course of the season.

It’s going to take a commitment to each other, and working together to get better as a team. The goal was to add players to the core that we knew would commit the time, and be willing to commit to more than individual success. We found those players, and it’s time to grind. All we can do is go through the process and keep the same commitment we currently have, and let the result play out. – redz

The team are taking no time off, and will get their first shot as a newly formed 5 this weekend, during NightCup 11. The next 3 months are in their hands, and we are eager to see what they can do with it.
