There were plenty of storylines going into GOTN Season 1 in Group B. Janitorz swapped zyk & woody for Jay & Gl4d. Ethix stepping back for UP with nova taking his place. Wizards (now fAMILY) coming into the season hot with a third place finish in the preseason nightcup. +vibe spawning from literally nowhere to be the 16th team. Nemesis coming back after a long hiatus.

Nemesis and UP both got off to slow starts, but ended up finding their footing and are coming into playoffs hot. Old School has shown us great spurts, and took group winners Janitorz to overtime. fAMILY probably didn’t have the season they expected, but have bolstered the roster since losing brisk, by adding birdman and reflex, and come into play-in round a threat with newfound motivation. +vibe has broa who is liable to carry on any particular day. Nephilim will have their work cut out for them in play-ins, but the core has been together awhile now and they will need to play into that strength as they look to progress.

Group B was 3 rounds away from having sending an undefeated challenger to the playoffs. The stage was set in the seasons final match, and Janitorz were up 10-4 against x6 on matmata. In what might be a playoff rematch at some point, it absolutley delivered. These two teams have traded maps and matches since pre-lan, including Janitorz winning in week 4, 13-7 on breakout. This one took all 24 rounds, and gave the fans something to close out the season. You can watch this back on GOTN.

Match of the Season (Group B)

Yeah, this one was thrilling. It’s not often you see a 1v4 clutch in a match. This match had multiple 1v3’s and 1v4’s. This epic, back and forth duel on Burgundy definitely deserves a rewatch. Ultimately, Old School were unable to pull off the upset, but they’ve shown this season that they cannot be taken lightly.
