Week Two Recap – Group A

Week Two Recap – Group A

Group A kicked off on Sunday night with goons taking down BAMF in a dominating 13-3 performance on Toujane. Looking to continue rolling after their hot 3-0 start, goons moved onto +forward on Monday, the beginning of a tough stretch of matches for them against the groups top seeds. The two teams started off even, trading rounds to get to 3-3, before goons began to take control and eventually built out a comfortable 7-4 lead. An 8-4 half was looking promising as goons got round 12 down to a 2v1 situation with cru!zer being the last man standing for +forward. Cru!zer pulled off an impressive 1v2 clutch, in what may have ended up being the key round in the match.

Plus forward took the momentum from that round and went on to win 8 more in a row on Axis, winning the match 13-7. Toujane, generally known to be a slightly defensive sided map, certainly didn’t feel so as +forward completely took over. Goons seemingly got a taste of their own medicine, squandering the lead, the opposite of thier match in week one which saw them come back from an 11-5 deficit vs Farmers.

The team is feeling pretty good, obviously we are still working out spots, and strats/nades, pretty much all of the above, but overall I think were feeling good.1200

In other results around the group, +forward took down mOo in their second match, to go to 3-1 on the season. Goons and Awakening also finish the week 3-1, in what is shaping up as tight race up top to begin the season. Farmers had a week they absolutely needed to have to stay in the race, beating the team pedro 13-1, and mOo 13-10 to go to 2-2.

The team feels like we have more solid footing. We still have very little play time together and we’ll be facing two of the best teams next week, just looking to improve and make panther go as negative as possible. mikey

Performance of the Week (Group A): myLo

myLo was an absolute game changer this week. Bricked Up, coming into this season as one of the league favorites, have shown exactly that so far this season. After taking down team pedro 13-0, myLo put together a vintage performance helping propel his team to victory once again against Awakening. In addition to countless entries and key kills, he pulled together an absolutely insane 1v3 to end Axis, in a key round. See below for an insane clutch that changed the trajectory of the match.

The boys are vibing. We’re just out here horse cocking it around with pure horse cockery energy. Confident mindsets. Going forward you can expect more of the same. We’ll look to hold things down and slowly ramp things up until Doug returns us to full power. – myLo

Match of the Week (Group A): Bricked > Awakening 13-8

Bricked Up put together an impressive performance against an Awakening team that has looked quite good as of late. Awakening started off Allies well, coming out to an early 2-0 lead. Bricked got them selves back into the match over the next 5-6 rounds, with big plays from 1Shot, woody and Mylo. Bricked eventually began to pull away on Axis, going into round 12 with a 7-4 lead. A 7-5 half on Allies would have been more than accpetable for Awakening, and they had it all but in the bag, with the bomb about to be planted and 3 players alive against myLo.

Then, THIS happened.

This round seemlingly seemed to shut the door on Awakening. They were able to start Axis 4-2 though, bringing the score back to within 2 rounds, bringing it to 10-8. In the end, Bricked were able to tuck up, and win a few very close rounds to pull out the victory.

As for the 3v1 clutch, I was just thinking I had to be aggressive. I had to take my chances and challenge them early before they could get into favorable spots. myLo
