Week Three Recap – Group A
Group A kicked off on Sunday night with team Pedro taking down BAMF 13-8 on Vallente. The team pick up their second win, and continue to fight with farmers & goons for the final playoff spot. The 3 teams will all have to face each other one more time in the final half of the season. Shoutout to team mOo, who picked up their first win of the season over BAMF as well, 13-8. D1uk of team mOo dropped 27 kills in that match.
That win definitely gives us a bit more confidence going forward. We’re gonna keep working on improving our performance in the next matches. Plus, for week 5, 6 and 7, we’ve got some maps coming up that we’re more comfortable on, so that could help too. – Jeack
The top 3 teams in Group A all won both of their games, starting to pull away from the pack. +forward did it in style, taking down both farmers and team Pedro, 13-2 & 13-3 respectively. Bricked Up had to put in a little bit more effort. After taking down Farmers 13-8, they had to come back from a 7-5 deficit at half against goons, to win 13-9 on Thursday night in what ended up being a stellar shotgun duel.

Performance(s) of the Week (Group A): Zack, Tipzy & Zexi
It was hard to choose between the 3 of these guys this week, as there are cases to be made for all three. Zack played a huge part in +forwards dominance this week, dropping 34 kills in the two matches in just 31 rounds. Tipzy led the way for Awakening, dropping 38 frags across the two matches this week, as both teams improve to 5-1 on the season.
Last but not least, the week could have been a lot different if not for goons man, Zexi, who did all he could to power the team to a victory over Awakening, but they ended up falling just short. They also ended up playing a close match against Bricked Up as well. Goons hang on to the 4th seed in Group A. If you missed it, this one was a must watch match over on GOTN, that was decided by a few very close clutch rounds from Awakening.
I think we had high hopes for the week but we feel a little short. Our german on vallente definitely needs some work. All in all we played great though especially being a new team, there’s players on the other teams that have more hours in this game than our whole team combined. I said it from the start that i dont expect much from the season other than getting better so all is going pretty good. – zexi

Match of the Week (Group A): Awakening 13-10 Goons

The match of the week delivered again. Goons came out of the gate hot on offense, getting out to a quick 5-2 lead. Zexi started hot, picking up 11 kills in those first 7 rounds leading the way. Awakening were able to hold it together enough to keep the half close, with Goons holding a 7-5 lead. Goons took two of the first three rounds on Axis, extending the lead to 9-6. But Awakening woke up just in time, taking the next 6 rounds in succession on offense, bringing it to match point, and eventually were able to close it out two rounds later. Tipzy was intrumental in the comeback, picking up 14 frags on Allies.
I mentioned it in the power rankings segment, but Zexi is having an incredible start to the season for goons. The breakout star is currently top 5 in the league in kills & total score through the first 3 weeks, as well as top 10 in overall score per game. The team will need to lean on him and 1200 in the second half of the season.
Things got a little messy, we were trying a new defense set up that didn’t quite work the way we wanted to. However, this team just has so much firepower that no game is out of reach. We each individually contributed to closing that game out. We have continued to put in the time to improve and it shows. – tipzy
