Week Four Recap – Group B

Week Four Recap – Group B

The Group B circus continued in Week 4. Last week, after stating that it was too early for Unknown Players to panic, they continued the poor streak of form, losing two more matches to midfield teams in group B, falling to 3-5. It is officially time to sound the alarm for the team who sit in 5th place in Group B, as they are now somewhat at risk to miss playoffs barring a turnaround. This week, they fell at the hands of 3-5 Old School and 3-4 +VIBE, who now sit at 6th and 4th.

Just two weeks after going inactive, it seems that wizards is BACK. The necromancy will lose some of their magic, as they rebrand to fAMILY, and pick up reflex as their 5th. The team hold an 0-5 record, but with the absolute chaos that has ensued in this group, they are still right there in the fight as they begin their makeup games.

I wouldn’t be a competitor if I thought playoffs wasn’t attainable. We got rust to shake off, chemistry to build, and mud to fight through. With the addition of reflex, we’re reinvigorated, and motivated to power through. The result will be what the result is, we’re here to grind and get better for next season and lan. -redz

Elsewhere in the group, x6 were able to take down Old School 13-7, the same scoreline that they deafeated them in week one. With x6 out of the way, and Old School in a tie for 5th in the group on record, the team look forward to matches against +VIBE and fAMILY, where they can make a huge push for that last playoff spot. Conversely for +vibe, and fAMILY these will also be huge games for seeding. Nephilim stay in the race with a win over fAMILY, 13-10, after Janitorz stayed hot, and defeated them 13-4.

We are having fun with the game and hoping to give some of these teams a run here in the final 3 weeks. We are more comfortable with these maps so hopefully we don’t have a double panther situation again at halftime. – ashen

Performance of the Week (Group B): Yamato

It took overtime, but we finally got our first 30 bomb of the season. Yamato got it done against +vibe in a battle for 4th place in Group B. Nemesis, now on a 3 game winning streak, have pulled one game ahead of the pack. The man labeled as “Windway’s cousin, heato” despite having a different flag on fps, put the team on his back and willed them to victory. Shoutout to berry as well for an insane 7 plants.

Match of the Week (Group B): Janitorz 13-7 x6

The cleaning crew handled business this week, mopping x6 on Breakout. The rivalry buidling between this team is no secret. In just the past two months, the teams have played several matches against each other. It started off at LAN, where the two were matched up in the groups, and then also played each other in the playoffs. At nightcup 10, the two were once again in the same group. That brings us to GOTN season 1, where the teams faceoff another two times.

The newest addition to the crew, Gl4d, led the way with 17 frags. With Janitorz starting on Axis, the match got off to a back and forth start. x6 were able to take rounds on the hard side early, with the score sitting at 4-4. However, Janitorz took it up a level, and won out the half, ending 8-4. From there, they had a solid offense, winning many close rounds to close out the match.

We are feeling pretty good so far, still have alot of chemistry to build to be ready when playoffs come around but farther along than we thought we’d be so far. Secret for us seems to be to keep it light – Gl4d
