Week Four Recap – Group A

Week Four Recap – Group A

While group A is starting to see separation at the top, pretty much locking up the top three playoff spots, the middle of this group is also getting pretty crazy. Initially, Farmers and Goons were thought to be the two teams that were going to fight for the 4th playoff spot, as they started to leave the other teams behind. But team Pedro aka team Casemen aka ggg stuck their name in the hat with what most would consider an upset over Goons on Wednesday. The team is known and beloved for their antics, one of those being you not knowing who is who in any of the screenshots. Goons squandered a terrific opportunity to potentially go 5-3 and get a few games ahead of farmers for 4th. However, it wasn’t to be, and now there will be 3 teams fighting for that 4th spot. Farmers vs goons next week will be a huge match.

You can expect the rest of the teams in our group to TAKE THESE INCHES. Shout out to our muse, casemenaxzn

Elsewhere in group A, BAMF fell to Farmers & +forward 13-4 & 13-3 respectively. Awakening took down casemen & farmers as they move to 7-1. There are now races all over the place in this group, as we have 3 teams at 7-1, and three more teams fighting closely for the last playoff spot.

Performance(s) of the Week (Group A): shell

After top fragging against BAMF in a 13-3 rout, the man proved once again that he can do it against absolutely everybody as he notched 19 more kills in just 18 rounds against North America’s #1 seed, and LAN winners Bricked Up. The face of consistency all season, shell proved once again why he is a named to be reckoned with. He will be called upon a few more times this season, as +forward now sit atop group A going into the second half of the season.

We are feeling really good going into this second half of the season. Seems like we are improving with every match/scrim. Excited to see how much we can improve. – shell

Match of the Week (Group A): +forward > Bricked Up 13-5

Well, there’s no denying this was a big one. +forward absolutely made a statement, taking down goliath Bricked Up on Breakout. This leaves two teams at 7-1 in Group A, and Bricked up at 6-1 with an extra game. +forward hand Bricked Up their first match loss since….you guessed it; +forward at GGEZ Cafe in Plano, TX, almost exactly two months ago. Bricked Up’s amazing run ends, and also throws a huge wrench into the group, where now the matches between these three teams in the second half of the season will decide this group. This result sends +forward to the top of the group on round differential; an insane +63 in just 8 matches.
