Week 5 Match of the Week
There are a few races within each group to keep an eye on as we move into week five. In Group A, we have three teams with only one loss fighting top the top seed in the group. We also have a three team race developing for the 4th seed as well, with seeds 4-6 being just one game apart as well, while still having to play each other.
Over in Group B, Janitorz took the sole #1 spot in the group and remain the last undefeated team this season, with x6 close behind. Then, another big race is happening for the 3/4 spots between a number of teams. With +forward vs Awakening being postponed to next week, and farmers being dead, thus not playing goons in a battle for the 4th seed, we’ll stick to one match this week.
Honorable mention:
+vibe (3-4) vs Old School (3-5)
Janitorz (7-0) vs Nemesis (5-3) – Wednesday 9:45est
Not many people had Nemesis pegged for 3rd place in Group B. But here they are, past the midway point of the season going into week 5. The team come into this matchup on a 4 match win streak, ready to face the last undefeated team in either group. What’s better is the history between the two teams, with many of them playing together years ago. If the match wasn’t important enough already, that will surely add a little bit of bragging rights to the tilt, as one of the streaks must be broken.
We’re feeling well. Still have some things to hash out and cleanup up rounds we’ve thrown. We’ve been really good not getting tilted and our ability to come back, while down, this season. We just need to do this against the teams atop the standings, but we’re feeling good currently. – berry
Writer Prediction: Janitorz > Nemesis 13-9
Community Predictions:
Don’t expect an upset here. Janitorz is firing on all cylinders and at this point, only they can stop themselves. Nemesis has their 44-heavy playstyle going for them, but it’s more likely to close the round gap than flip the result. Yamato will not be a difference maker in this one, you can take that to the bank. The real duel will lie between Harold and Berry and I expect Harold to prove he’s been putting in the work. If Janitorz starts German: 13-5 Janitorz. If Nemesis starts Axis: 13-10 Janitorz – zyk
Two of the top three teams in Group B going at it! These teams meet again. Janitorz won week 1 on Dawnville but Nemesis has only gotten better since then. They are currently on a 4 game winning streak and look to stay hot. Speaking of hot, Yamato the mystery man has been the talk of the town lately (as he should be) with 56 frags on Breakout this week! Nemesis has been a pleasant surprise this season but Carentan is a different monster. It’s a little harder to dominate as a sniper on this map and requires a lot more team coordination. With that said, on a more team oriented map like this I have to give the edge to experience. Janitorz are coming off a pretty comfortable win against x6 and should continue rolling along in their undefeated season. Good luck to both.
Janitorz 13-8

Jannie’s beat nemesis I feel it could be pretty decisive the based on the scrims I’ve played against them but over confidence could lead to some unexpected results. – broa
